Our Teachers
All Guchereau teachers and caregivers not only meet the state requirements but exceed them. Our staff have years of experience in early learning settings. Each staff member uses their unique teaching style to observe children as they "play their way through learning". Our staff also collaborates and plans your child's curriculum weekly with the daycare director. This ensures that no child is left behind academically. Our staff also receives continuous training in Early Childhood Education promoting best practices and developmentally appropriate practices.
Staff Qualifications
We choose our teachers based on their classroom experience, training, and caring attitude.
- Staff screening includes an extensive application, intensive interview, reference check with previous employers, and a background check.
- All teachers have their current CPR and Pediatric First Aide certifications in addition to 12 hours of continuing education training every year.

Meet our Director!
Kristi Delahoussaye
Kristi Delahoussaye
Ms. Kristi started working at Guchereau in 2006. She taught in the 1-year-old class for 10 years. She moved to part-time, working as a substitute teacher, to have more time with her family. During that time, she was able to work with every age group and so many amazing children. She returned to a full-time position in 2022 as the Director.
"Working in childcare over the last 18 years has been such a rewarding experience. I have learned that the best way to teach a child is to understand their individual needs. Listen to them. Encourage and motivate them. It is amazing to watch the growth in each child. The stories they tell are pretty great too!"
Ms. Kristi enjoys spending time with her family, interior design, and reading medical research articles. She also loves chocolate and shopping for jewelry.
